This is the first time that I've used a truly precision drilling instrument, and it is a revelation. The fact that the motor has a braking system is very unusual for someone who has never used a drill of this precise before. I was used to having a motor just slow down and eventually stop. This motor literally stops on a dime. For novice drill users, this is quite an improvement over the usual 9.6 volt (which I'm not sure are even made anymore) minimum torque drills. This is definitely a tool for precision users as well, and if properly cared for (and Panasonic gives great instructions for this) then I fully expect to have this tool for a lifetime. I've never had a piece of equipment that was good enough to care enough about maintaining it and keeping it over long amount of time. I protect this thing like a computer or piece of high tech equipment, and I expect it last and be useful forever. A great selection for any type of user.
