After having some bad luck with another brand of lithium ion drill, I decided I'd go old school and get a Nickel metal hydride battery drill. The blue model Makitas feel a lot more solid to me than the new 18v LIthium models. I found the three piece 14.4v combo kit with drill, impact driver, and fluorescent worklight for not much more money than the drill alone. That was a no brainer!
The drill is everything I hoped for. Plenty of power for anything I'll do with it. Drives three inch screws into old fir with no problem. Feels really solid, pretty light and fits my hand perfectly. Battery life seems great!
The impact driver is solid, and really compact. The worklight is fantastic. I'm using it for all kinds of jobs. Even the carrying case is nice. Well built and holds everything neatly and securely.
I really like this product, and am looking forward to years of good service!
